Diane Bays
Written by her daughter-in-law Rosemary Harp
Diane Bays was born in Detroit, Michigan, and attended St. Francis De Sales high school where she was a top student and a school leader. As a young woman growing up in Detroit, Diane enjoyed studying piano, ice skating, going to dances, and having adventures with her friends and neighbors in the city. She is a voracious reader and a vigorous supporter of Catholic education and she is delighted that her grandson, Henry Bays, is following in her footsteps by studying Latin. I count myself so lucky to have such a warm, witty, smart, and accepting mother-in-law who never judges me — even the time when she was babysitting and I accidentally locked her out of the house in the cold with my three children (all under five) while dinner burned unattended in the oven. Diane knows how to laugh at life's obstacles. Her integrity, faith, strength, intelligence, and loving heart are mirrored by her three children.
Thank you, Diane, for being a wonderful grandmother and mother-in-law and for raising the finest man I have ever known.
